I started writing this master class honestly years ago, when I still lived in the old house that I raised my children in after my divorce. It was the same house that I refinanced after going back into the insurance industry after taking nine months off to stay home with my son. The same house I remember staring up at my ceiling fan as I was trying to put my son to bed, wondering how I was going to pay the bills, not wanting to go back into the insurance industry after years on the service side, knowing that it didn’t fill my cup to be in a 9 to 5 position.
It’s crazy to me now because that was years ago. I’m now a top 1% producer, that has a solid and second to none niche, and a circle of influence that I have built from the ground up that creates a constant steady stream of referrals. All of which I did completely on my own. Yes, I had mentors and I had people that have been in the industry forever, but no one taught me the best part about what makes me successful.
Where Commit To Trailblazing Started
I remember sitting at that table, far beyond being in the top 1%, maybe in the second year of selling insurance and going back into the industry. I remember thinking: I’m on something here. I wanna write it out. I want to share this.
I was watching agents, new and old, struggle. Most of them were generalists. Most of them were not passionate or knowledgeable enough about anything that they were selling, and therefore just another agent. The staleness that that brought into our organization was an itch that I needed to scratch with something that I needed to fix.
I can do it, I thought. I can show them.
The Truth I Learned
But as years went by what I realized was that you have to have the right type of person in the right position, selling the right thing that they’re passionate about and honestly- that's partially for the right organization. We can always control the organization we work for, at least in the beginning. A lot of people that I know do not want to do the work that it takes to succeed.
It wasn’t hard for me.
I’ll tell you–the success was everything for me. It’s the confidence, it’s the boldness. It’s walking into a room and being the expert at something. It’s respect it’s the freedom. However, most do not know what it takes to look inward, to know what it takes to decide that you want to be better at anything, and it starts with you.
And still, most don’t know where to look or how to start.
Why I Created Courses for Insurance Agents
I created this course precisely for the people that want to start, but don’t know how. That have that fever in them to be better, who desire to have more passion and energy in their career as well as to be the best at what they do.
